The low stress realistic bridges are back! Don't expect me to be doing this as often as master mode, but you'll see an episode pop up every now and then.
Could stress be reduced by adding springs? I would think that in many cases where the highest-stress elements are those on the underside of a bridge get stressed under tension when a vehicle goes over them, adding a spring and a cable to compress those elements would considerably offset that stress without adding much weight. If a section of road would be under 60% stress when a vehicle is on top of it, adding a spring and cable that cause it to be at 30% compressive stress when the bridge is empty would mean it would be under 30% stress when loaded.

@AjaxianMega123 flat objects still have mass, and thus still have gravity. But let’s say the Earth is a huge flat slab of granite, the gravity would pull you to the center, for a sphere this is okay as you’re always above the center, but for a flat slab it would drag you. I’m not a physicist however

I think that they could create an official low-stress mode, but it should have infinite budget. That is the only way I can think to make it optimizable without momentary jank.

Thinking about this; instead of having a stress leaderboard, there could be a stress goal mode for each level a la challenge mode. That way the different realistically achievable stress goals for each level could be taken into account - and then there can be a normal budget leaderboard just with everyone's bridges under xx% stress.
I don't remember if I mentioned this in a previous video... (Tell me if I have.) But I think I have an idea on how to make 'min-stress' work alongside 'min-budget.' What if each bridge was scored by a combination of how far under budget and under 100% stress you are? I.e. if you use only 75% budget for a bridge with 60% stress, you could score *50.00* in total. For those wondering, the equation I used was the following: =(100%-MIN%) x (100%+(100%-MAX%)) (This will ALWAYS give you the largest total, so it doesn't discriminate one value over the other.)

Hey Tyler, I notice that on some of the bridges your at the top 2% budget. Maybe after you beat all of the bridges under 40% stress you can reclaim being the top 1% percent on all of your bridges!
I feel like a good tool to make optimizing stress more fun would be a slider that lets you reduce each piece's stress capacity. For example, you set the slider to 50% and then parts will break at 50% stress. It would allow you to work towards stress goals slowly.
Yeah that would also allow for a fun challange too

As an Australian, I’m pretty sure the Sydney Harbour Bridge is at a constant 95% stress
The lowest fos of any part in the Sydney Harbour Bridge is 1.9. So the stress would be a little over 50% if it was in terms of bridge game
